The Luxeed V9 is China’s first Huawei–Chery flagship intelligent premium MPV, launched in May 2026. If you are trying to make sense of the Chinese brochures and mixed translations online, this guide walks through the specs, how it actually fits UAE use, what it costs, and what to know before importing one.

You can find more details about the Luxeed lineup on the official Huawei intelligent mobility page for Luxeed.

What Is the Luxeed V9 Flagship MPV?

The Luxeed V9 is a joint project under Huawei’s Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) with Chery, and it is the first MPV from the Luxeed brand. It lines up directly against the Denza D9, Voyah Dreamer, Toyota Alphard and Hyundai Staria, but with Huawei’s software and driver assistance as its main calling card.

The MPV debuted in China in May 2026, and pre-sale orders passed 12,500 units shortly after bookings opened. That is a serious number for a high-end MPV and shows genuine demand in China’s premium people-mover segment.

For now, the V9 is the only MPV in the Luxeed family. The other models are the S7 sedan and R7 SUV. Every V9 runs Huawei’s HarmonyOS cockpit plus the ADS driver assistance suite, regardless of trim.

Futuristic Tech Luxury Styling

On the road, the V9 has real presence. It measures 5,359 mm long with a 3,250 mm wheelbase, so it is slightly larger than a Toyota Alphard and close to full-size American minivan territory. Aerodynamics are surprisingly good for a tall MPV, with a drag coefficient of 0.253 Cd.

Styling highlights include the Star Cluster Grille and Star Crystal lighting signature. As you walk up to the car, millimetre-wave radar triggers interactive welcome light carpets under your feet, a party trick that feels more high-end lounge than family bus. The DLP projection headlights can show custom patterns and dynamic animations for arrival and departure, something you would normally expect on top German flagships.

Premium, Versatile, Intelligent Cabin

Inside, the layout is a 2-2-3 seven-seat configuration, designed to cover everything from school runs to VIP airport transfers.

The second row is where the money goes. You get zero-gravity swivel seats with up to 123 degrees of tilt, SPA-grade mechanical massage, active side bolsters and graphene heating. It is the kind of seat that makes you forget you are in an MPV at all.

Practicality is strong too. Cargo capacity starts at 892 L and grows to 2,002 L with seats adjusted. There are 52 storage compartments scattered around the cabin and a constant-temperature smart refrigerator for drinks or baby bottles.

The ALPS 3.0 Healthy Cabin setup is one of its standout features. It includes an oxygen generation system and has earned TÜV motion sickness relief certification, which is especially useful for kids or passengers who usually get queasy in the back. Acoustic insulation uses over 50 square metres of sound-absorbing material and 13 pieces of double-laminated acoustic glass, combined with full-spectrum active noise cancellation. The result should feel closer to a rolling lounge than a typical MPV.

Refined Handling and Performance

Underneath, the Tuling chassis uses front double-wishbone suspension and a rear H-arm multi-link setup, with CDC adaptive dampers and an optional dual-chamber air suspension. This combination is designed to filter out rough surfaces while still controlling body roll.

Active rear-wheel steering can turn up to ±7 degrees, allowing a tight 5.35 m minimum turning radius. For a vehicle over 5.3 metres long, that kind of maneuverability really helps in tight Dubai parking ramps or narrow Sharjah side streets.

The powertrain is built around the Snowy Owl extended-range system paired with the Giant Whale battery platform. A 53.4 kWh battery feeds the electric motors.

Current production is exclusively extended-range electric vehicle (EREV). A 1.5T petrol generator supports the motors, with total system output of either 227 kW (single-motor) or 382 kW (dual-motor). The stronger version gives you brisk acceleration even when the car is fully loaded with passengers and luggage.

Battery Range and Real-World UAE Performance

On paper, the extended-range Luxeed V9 claims up to 1,320 km of CLTC combined range. Pure electric range is quoted at 158–223 km, depending on configuration. Fuel use under WLTC sits at about 6.8 L per 100 km.

Those are optimistic lab figures. In UAE reality, with highway cruising at 120–140 km/h, often full of passengers, strong air-conditioning and summer ambient temperatures around 45 °C, a realistic combined range is closer to 900–1,050 km on a full tank and charge. Even so, that easily covers a Dubai to Riyadh run with only one relaxed stop.

Thanks to its 800 V electrical architecture, the V9 supports very fast charging, adding roughly 300 km of range in about 10 minutes on a suitable DC fast charger. For daily UAE use, that means a quick coffee break can genuinely reset your range anxiety.

Safety and Huawei Driver Assistance Features

Huawei leans heavily into tech in the V9. An 896-line dual optical path imaging LiDAR works with multiple cameras, radars and ultrasonic sensors to power the Huawei ADS driver assistance.

On the move, ADS offers full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane centering, automatic lane changing and memory parking, useful if you regularly park in the same tricky building or villa driveway.

Passive safety includes a full-surround multi-stage airbag system with 13 airbags fitted as standard. The vehicle carries TÜV Rheinland Motion Sickness Relief certification, reinforcing its comfort credentials. Active safety further benefits from the rear-wheel steering system, which cuts body sway in corners and provides a more stable feel at higher speeds.

Luxeed V9 Price, Trims and UAE Availability

In China, pricing starts at around 399,800 RMB for the base version and climbs to about 529,800 RMB for the top specification. Trims are named Max, Max+, Ultra and Ultra+.

For UAE buyers looking at grey import channels, estimated landed cost starts from about 210,000 AED, depending on configuration, shipping, import duties and local registration costs.

There is no official GCC or UAE launch yet, as of October 2026. That means grey imports are currently the only route, and after-sales support depends on specialist importers and independent workshops rather than a traditional dealer network.

Luxeed V9 vs Key Rivals

In this group, the Luxeed V9 stands out with its Huawei intelligent driving package, cabin health technology and extended-range efficiency. It also undercuts long-established Japanese premium rivals on entry price, while matching or beating them for space and comfort.

For UAE buyers focused on family duties, VIP shuttle work or cross-Gulf runs, the motion sickness certification, built-in oxygen generation and tight turning circle are real benefits, not just brochure fluff.

Conclusion

The Luxeed V9 blends Huawei tech, generous cabin space and serious range in a package that fits UAE driving patterns surprisingly well, especially for long highways and hot summers. The key question is support. Until an official distributor steps in, anyone considering one should budget for grey import logistics and choose their importer carefully, with parts availability and warranty support clearly written down.
