Price: Starting from AED 46,000 (India equivalent)

The Nissan Tekton is a new Patrol-inspired compact crossover SUV built on the CMF-B platform. It is aimed straight at the crowded C-SUV segment, where value for money matters as much as badge appeal.

What Is the Nissan Tekton?

The Nissan Tekton is an all-new five-seater C-SUV developed on the CMF-B Alliance platform it shares with the Renault Duster. Nissan is happy to call it a ā€œbaby Patrolā€, and you can see why. It borrows the big SUV’s attitude with a large grille, C-shaped LED daytime running lights and chunky, muscular haunches.

The SUV is aimed at India first, with plans to export to more than 50 markets, including the Middle East and Africa. It goes up against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Maruti Grand Vitara, and it also marks Nissan’s return to the midsize SUV space in India after the Kicks was discontinued.

Nissan Tekton Price in India and Expected UAE Pricing

In India, ex-showroom prices start at ₹10.49 lakh and go up to ₹18.59 lakh on an introductory basis. There are six variants: Visia, Visia Plus, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna and Tekna Plus.

Based on recent exchange rates, that roughly translates to about AED 46,000 to 82,000. For the UAE, a launch is expected around September 2026, with an estimated starting price under AED 80,000. These AED values are indicative conversions only. Actual GCC pricing, taxes and specifications will be confirmed if and when the car is officially announced for the region.

Nissan Tekton Release Date and Launch Timeline

Nissan revealed the Tekton globally on July 9 2026. Bookings in India opened the same day, and first deliveries are scheduled from July 20 2026.

As of 14 July 2026, there is still no official UAE or GCC launch date. That July 9 date was the world premiere and India launch event, not the start of sales in every market.

Nissan Tekton Dimensions and Practicality

The Tekton measures 4,348 to 4,349 mm in length, 1,815 mm in width and 1,659 to 1,674 mm in height. The wheelbase is 2,657 mm, and ground clearance is a segment-high 212 mm. Boot space is quoted at 518 to 700 litres when measured up to the roof.

On paper, that puts it between the Nissan Kicks and X-Trail in size. In practice, it should feel like a proper family SUV, with enough space for daily use and enough clearance for rough roads or light off-road tracks.

Nissan Tekton Exterior Design and ā€œBaby Patrolā€ Styling

The Tekton leans heavily on Patrol-inspired styling. The front wears a large grille with bold detailing, framed by C-shaped LED DRLs. At the rear, a full-width light bar adds a bit of flair that you would normally expect on a more expensive SUV.

Muscular haunches, 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and high-gloss trim pieces give it a planted, upright stance. Buyers can choose from 11 colour options, split between five monotone and six dual-tone finishes.

The result is an SUV that looks confident enough for the school run, mall parking and weekend trips, yet still compact enough to thread through tight city streets.

Nissan Tekton Interior, Features and Comfort

Inside, the Tekton uses a layered dashboard layout with a 10.1-inch touchscreen and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Google built-in services, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and an Arkamys audio system handle the tech side.

Higher trims step things up with a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control and a powered tailgate. There are four interior themes and more than 50 personalisation options, so buyers can tailor the cabin more than usual for this class.

The tri-tone cabin, soft-touch materials and plenty of storage spaces aim to strike a balance: premium enough to feel special, sturdy enough to cope with hot climates and daily use.

Nissan Tekton Powertrains, Performance and Efficiency

Nissan offers two turbo-petrol engines.

- A 1.0-litre three-cylinder with 100 PS and 166 Nm, paired only with a six-speed manual.
- A 1.3-litre four-cylinder with 163 PS and 280 Nm, offered with either a six-speed manual or six-speed dual-clutch automatic.

Claimed fuel economy under ARAI testing is between 17.8 and 19.4 kmpl, depending on variant. All versions are front-wheel drive, with no AWD or hybrid option at launch.

On paper, the turbo engines should offer strong low-end torque, which is useful for highway overtakes and for carrying passengers and luggage without feeling strained.

Nissan Tekton Safety Features and Ratings

Safety equipment is one of the Tekton’s strong talking points. Six airbags are standard, along with electronic stability control, hill-hold assist, tyre pressure monitoring and a 360-degree camera.

Higher trims add Level-2 ADAS, including adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking and lane-keep assist. The Tekton has scored 5 stars in Bharat NCAP testing, supported by a reinforced structure and a comprehensive set of active and passive safety features.

Nissan Tekton vs Rivals: How It Compares

Against this group, the Tekton stands out with its 212 mm ground clearance and aggressive design. In a UAE setting, it would likely sit between the Kicks and X-Trail on both size and price, offering some of the Patrol look and feel at a more accessible level.
